Who We Are…
St Nicholas’ and St Stephen’s are local Anglican churches with a local vision to worship God and love and serve the people of Ingrave and Herongate.
We also carry responsibilities with The Churches Conservation Trust for All Saints East Horndon. A beautiful, redundant Tudor church on the south end of our parish by the A127.
Our worship style attempts to be formal enough to honour God with space and awe for His presence and informal enough to be welcoming and accessible.
Our services are mainly sacramental with Holy Communion as the central act of worship and a combination or organ, keyboard and broadcast music.
We passionately teach the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church and look to the whole of God’s church to interpretthe modernising calls upon the church in the 21st century.
We welcome children into our services and provide parentally managed crèche space for pre school aged children.
Our usual worship pattern is
Sunday
St Nicholas’, 9:30am - 10:30am
St Stephen’s, 11am-12noon
Wed
St Nicholas, 10am - 10:30am
Thu
St Stephen’s, 11am - 11:30am
Prayers are also said in both churches each day. Please get in touch if you want us to pray for you.
Our Vision Statement
We are aiming to be a church that
Worships - God in the power of the Holy Spirit, under the authority of His word, in communion with the whole church of God.
Equips - God’s people to prayerful disciples of Jesus, following him daily and being his witnesses.
Serves - God by using our gifts and follows Jesus’ example.
Trusts - God has called us to be His church at this time according to His will and purposes.
